Basement Remodel

When looking to add functional space to your home,
sometimes you need to look no further than your basement.
A basement remodel can often add useful space to a home
for far less cost than an addition. Below are
some pictures of a basement remodel we did
this year.

 (Before)

We removed the existing finishes and constructed
perimeter walls.  We installed a moisture barrier
between the block walls and our new wall
which allowed us to fully insulate the space for
both sound and thermal control.

The entire space was wired with can lighting, dimmers,
USB hubs, cable, and plenty of receptacles for
every device imaginable.  The homeowners wanted
to give the basement a slightly rustic finish. We custom built
the sliding barn door as well as the headboard for the bed.
The lighting and flooring choices helped to give the rustic
elements a more refined feel.
As you can see the formerly stale basement turned out to
be a very comfortable place to
sleep, watch TV, study and relax!

Dining Room Remodel

These are some photos of a unique
and fun remodeling project.  We were
tasked with the challenge of transforming
an existing old dining room and bedroom/office
area into a large dining area.  We also needed to
squeeze in a hidden laundry room
for easy 1st floor access. It was a
fun project for great people!

Makeover

Below is the before and after shot of
an exterior remodel project.  The siding
had become dated and was beginning to
blow off in the wind. The windows and doors were
drafty and needed replaced.

We replaced the siding with Mastic dutch lap
vinyl siding. The old windows were removed and new Marvin
windows were installed.  If you look closely you can see
that the 2nd floor windows are now separate units
rather than mulled together. The porch posts were
replaced, as well as the doors.  It was a fun project
and we love results!

Kitchen Renovation

Earlier this year we had the privilege of
renovating a kitchen for a very nice couple. The kitchen
in the house was original and lacked the necessary
counter and cabinet space for a modern kitchen.  It also had a large
window and a chimney that were taking up valuable room.

Chimney has been removed from corner.

You'll see in the after pictures that
we reduced the window height to allow space for a dishwasher and
counter top.  We also added a peninsula which helped
to maximize storage.  The former chimney location has become
a great place to feed and water the family pet!

Living Room Addition

In this project we worked with a family that
loved their neighborhood,
but their floor plan was a little too small.  They worked
with a designer to come up with an addition that
met their need for living and entertainment space and
the full basement helped add some useful storage.
We really enjoyed working with the family
and were happy to help make their home a little more functional!

In the photo below you can see where
we extended the roof line of the home.  This made the home look
more substantial and better protected from the weather.

The home had a small addition and patio
on the back that we removed.

Pool Deck

Though our summer has been a little rainy
we have been busy building pool decks! On this particular
deck we were able to incorporate the original deck into the
new construction, which made the large deck space
more cost-effective.  We used artificial decking and PVC Pool
Code-Compliant rails which made for a nice finished product!

Deck

On this Deck project we worked with
Building Innovations, LLC. out of Saegertown, PA (814) 392-0092.  After
the deck was laid out the owners decided they wanted more
space for entertaining.  The local Building Inspector worked with us
to make the new scope of the project compatible with adopted
building codes, while keeping the additional time and costs to a minimum.
Everyone was very pleased with the results!
